According to the most recent findings issued by the U.S. Department of Education (2016), approximately 1,770,000 students are homeschooled in the United States, or 3.4% of the school-age population. The National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI) reports that between 2012 and 2016, the number of homeschooled children grew by 25% or more. Why?
